The Unicorn Dance Trophy 2026 brought three days of dancing, athleticism, and global spirit to 'Schaatsbaan De Westfries' in Hoorn. This year’s edition welcomed an impressively diverse field of skaters not only from across Europe, but also from the United States, South Africa and Chinese Taipei. Their presence underscored the growing international appeal of solo ice dance, a discipline still relatively new but rapidly gaining recognition. Together with the International Solo Dance event there was also an Interclub competition for Solo Ice Dance and Ice Dance for participants of all levels.
Across all levels, the atmosphere was vibrant and inspiring. Skaters showcased their creativity and technical skill supported by a fantastic team of volunteers, coaches, officials, and families who helped make the event a success.
The event also drew attention from the regional press: Het Noordhollands Dagblad published an article about the Unicorn Dance Trophy and the rise of solo ice dance in the Netherlands.
